ANONYMOUS WOMAN: RECONSTRUCTED
Anonymous Women: Reconstructed features staged narrative photographs and short videos in which a woman becomes camouflaged within elaborate domestic interiors, nearly disappearing into patterned spaces and accumulating possessions. As the environments grow increasingly excessive, everyday household activities turn absurd, and the figure becomes trapped within the very world she has created. The work explores the conflation of woman and home, examining how identity can become fused with domestic roles and expectations. Drawing from Patty Carroll’s upbringing in suburban Chicago, the series critiques and satirizes enduring myths of domestic perfection and the claustrophobic pressures that still surround the idea of home.
